I.D. Griffith, Inc. was incorporated on July 2, 1947 by I. Davidson Griffith. His mission was to establish a union affiliation and we are proud to continue that legacy by remaining one of the top union affiliated mechanical contractors in Delaware. The company’s primary focus was fabrication and installation of sheet metal, duct-work and other metal work. In time it was decided to pursue commercial, institutional and industrial projects.

In 1952, the company was moved to its present location in Wilmington. Realizing that there was an opportunity to expand and solidify the company, Mr. Griffith made the decision to venture into the world of mechanical contracting in 1962. Shortly after, General Motors and Chrysler recognized the capabilities of I.D. Griffith and awarded them major renovation jobs in cities including Wilmington, Detroit and Kansas City.

Since then, I.D. Griffith, Inc. has remained at the forefront of the mechanical contracting industry throughout Delaware and the surrounding areas. We have evolved since our start over 75 years ago to become a 5th generation employee owned multi-faceted company with an in-house sheet metal fabrication and pipe shop, service department, estimating department and CAD sketching department. We utilize the latest technology for field coordination, TRIMBLE field layout GPS systems and BIM modeling to ensure we provide top quality work for every project. Since our start, I.D. Griffith has remained proud of the exceptional work we provide in both the safest and most cost effective manner while maintaining “Quality, Integrity & Pride” through all facets of our work.
